To install VLC Media Player, run the command below.
sudo apt-get install vlc-media-player
VLC Media Player is available for download for most major Linux distributions. You can access the installation procedure for the VLC media player on Linux by typing the name of your distribution as the command below.
Linux/Ubuntu:
Download VLC Media Player on the official VLC website. Extract the file to a convenient directory and update your system with a text editor.

Linux Mint:
Download VLC Media Player on the official VLC website. Extract the file to a convenient directory and update your system with a text editor.
For example:
Download VLC Media Player for Linux Mint and copy the file name in your package manager.
